Reading Away a Virus

As the coronavirus spreads throughout our world, people are staying home, sometimes by choice, sometimes not. My own state is currently “on lockdown,” and many people are quickly running out of things to keep them busy. We readers, however, can travel to faraway places, joining interesting people (and animals) by simply picking up a book.

Those of us who own e-readers are truly in luck. We don’t have to go to a bookstore, and we don’t have to go to the library, both of which are probably closed anyway. However, we can go to our library electronically, downloading books for free.

If you have a Kindle Unlimited account, you  can read morning, noon, and night for free. Well, it’s sort of free. There’s a fee to sign up for it, BUT you can get your first month without cost.

If you happen to have an Amazon Prime account, it has a lot of e-books for free. Check out a sampler of what’s currently free.

The Fiction page here at Animal Lover Books has two freebies with Kindle Unlimited:
“Whispers in the Forest”
“Fire Bringer”

On the Nonfiction page, are:
“Cats in the Belfry”
“The Three Kitties that Saved My Life”

So. until it’s once again safe to get together with friends, attend a concert, or simply go wandering, charge up your Kindle Paperwhite (my personal favorite), relax with a bowl of popcorn, and read.

And stay well!
